Freakishly-talented percussionist, Sal Ferreras is guest soloist for this evening of extremes. He will perform solo improvisations on the Chromarimba, a 31-note microtonal glass marimba invented by Vancouver composer Benton Roark as well as Latin music with the Hard Rubber Orchestra and pianist Niho Takase.
The program will also feature Cameron Wilson’s version of the Freddie Mercury classic, Bohemian Rhapsody, for solo violin, 4 exciting works by the next wave of Vancouver’s great young composers – Mike Allen, Mariah Mennie, Dean Thiessen and Eric Wettstein and new work by the unstoppable John Korsrud.
We gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the Canada Council for the Arts, the BC Arts Council, the Province of BC through Community Gaming Grants and the City of Vancouver through Cultural Services.
